The correct answer is: "Gave them opportunities not available on family farms".

Until the industrial revolution the majority of the population worked in agricultural activities. Exploitations were mainly family farms, where family members performed the different tasks. Due to the physicall nature of the work, usually men worked in the fields while women were in charge of the tasks related to the house. In the end, they never worked out of the house.

When the industrial revolution suceeded and created many job positions, many people moved from the countryside to urban areas and joined the industrial laborforce. In this sector there were also job opportunities for women out of the house, as the machinery usually did the physically-intense tasks and they could perform many times the same jobs than men.

What is an example of a policy that was added, banned and then reversed and denounced by environmental activists
topjm [15]

An example of a policy that was added, banned, and then reversed and denounced by environmental activists is offshore drilling.

What is Offshore drilling?

 • Large fixed or floating platforms are used in offshore drilling to access the oil and gas riches that lie beneath the ocean.
 • Drilling activities offshore are hazardous and dangerous undertakings.
 • Risks connected to offshore drilling operations result in fatal accidents, serious injuries, asset losses, and environmental degradation, which harm this industry's reputation.
 • Petroleum production has increased since offshore drilling technology was developed to keep up with the escalating demand.
 • With the help of offshore drilling, numerous foreign nations can now search the ocean for oil and gas, encouraging independence.
 • However, it poses a threat to endangered North Atlantic right whales, bottlenose dolphins, sea turtles, and brown pelicans. Our coastal way of life is in danger due to offshore oil and gas development.
