The volume of the cube = (2)(1.3)(1.3) cubic meters,

= 4.16 cubic meters,

According to question a quarter is filled with petrol.
So the volume full of petrol = 0.25 × 4.16 cubic meters = 1.04 cubic meters.

The remaining portion needed to be filled = (4.16-1.04 )m^3 = 3.12m^3

So a (3.12× 1000) litres = 3210 litres of petrol will be needed to fill this tank.

Part a: what is the initial value of the function? what does it mean in the context of the situation?
ser-zykov [4K]

Answer:

Initial value = 10, slope = 4

Step-by-step explanation:

Initial value is the point where x takes its lowest value. In this case it is x = 0 and y = 10. Rate of change is the slope at a given point. Because this is a first order equation graph the slope is always the same. And in this case it is 4 as for every 1 unit of x the y goes 4.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!
Masja [62]

Given:

Center of hyperbola is at (h,k).

To find:

The standard forms of a hyperbola.

Solution:

We know that, standard forms of a hyperbola are

1. For Horizontal hyperbola:

\dfrac{(x-h)^2}{a^2}-\dfrac{(y-k)^2}{b^2}=1

2. For Vertical hyperbola:

\dfrac{(y-k)^2}{a^2}-\dfrac{(x-h)^2}{b^2}=1

where, (h,k) is center of the hyperbola.

Therefore, the correct option is B.

A point moves along the curve y = √ x in such a way that the y-component of the position of the point is increasing at a rate of
Eduardwww [97]

Answer:

The value of x component changes at a rate of \frac{dx}{dt}=4\sqrt{x} units per second

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that y=x^{\frac{1}{2}}

Differentiating on both sides with respect to time we get

\frac{dy}{dt}=\frac{d\sqrt{x}}{dt}\\\\\frac{dy}{dt}=\frac{1}{2}x^{\frac{-1}{2}}(\frac{dx}{dt})\\\\\frac{dy}{dt}=\frac{1}{2\sqrt{x}}\frac{dx}{dt}

It is given that \frac{dy}{dt}=2units/sec

Solving for \frac{dx}{dt} we get

\frac{dx}{dt}=\frac{dy}{dt}\times 2\sqrt{x}\\\\\frac{dx}{dt}=4\sqrt{x}
