Kenya is considered as the last one to gain independence among the stated countries. It got its freedom in 1963 from the British colonies and became the first country even to have a prime minister. The struggle for freedom was started back several years before initiation of Kenyatta who has become the leader. The formation of Mau in 1952 led to the arrest of many leaders who were charged with the Mau rebellion and were put in prison for seven years. When Kenya finally came free from the colonies, in this time Kenyatta was the first president while Jaramogi, his vice president.
