Im working on this two lol. Raymonds run and the bat poet both share the theme confidence. Squeky has to be confident in her self during the race. The bat has to be confident in his self to realize that he doesnt have to be like everyone else he can be himself. Each story helps develop a theme by addressing there problem for squeaky she was scared of not being able to win and for the bat he was scared of being different. Hope i helped

We know that back then people did not have much say in who it was they married. Their parents chose for them who they saw fit and that was that. Very little was the spouse chosen by the person themself. So this encounter reminds us that back then brides has almost no control over who it was that they would marry.
