The Great Awakening influenced the American Revolution because it changed the country in ideological, sociological and in religious beliefs. The Great Awakening questioned the hierarchy inside the church rejecting the power that was already there and reminding people that salvation was their responsibility, not the priests. People that were marginalized were given attention to speaking about God which provided the whole nation a new hope for the future.
