Disk cleanup utility program was created by Microsoft and it helps to identify and eliminate unnecessary files on the disk space (computer hard drive). Removing these files help to greatly improve the CPU performance and this is also a good maintenance activity. Some of the files that could be removed during the clean up are the Recycle bin files, thumbnails, browser caches and temporary files used by applications.
