Answer:

The values of x for the expression is undefined is -3 or 9

Step-by-step explanation:

Given function,

f(x) = \frac{X  +\  6}{X^2 - 6X-27}

The values of x for which the expression is undefined is obtained when the denominator is equal to zero, from the expression it is given by;

x² - 6x - 27 = 0

Factorize the equation

x² + 3x - 9x - 27 = 0

x (x + 3) -9(x + 3) = 0

(x + 3)(x - 9) = 0

x = -3   or  x = 9

Therefore, the values of x for the expression is undefined is -3 or 9

Charlie owns many different types of jeans 12 pairs of jeans are dark denim jeans 5 are black 4 are white what is the percent of
kaheart [24]

Answer:

57.14% of Charlie's jeans are denim.

Step-by-step explanation:

Charlie has 12 + 5 + 4 = 21 pairs of jeans total.

12 of those jeans are denim jeans.

So to get a fraction, we put the denim over the total:

12/21 = .5714 on the calculator.

To change this to a percentage, we move the decimal back two places.

.5714 -> 57.14% of Charlie's jeans are denim.

Graphing help please - fairly simple, image attached.
alisha [4.7K]
To figure out if a graph is a function, you can use this thing called the vertical line test. in case you're unfamiliar, it's basically where you just imagine a vertical line going from left to right on the graph. if it crosses the function in two places, it's incorrect. i suggest looking up a video that shows you a visual representation of the vertical line test if you've never heard of it; it's fairly simple.

A is a function because the graph passes the vertical line test. if you imagine a vertical line and drag it from left to right across the graph, the linear function graphed in choice A does not have two x values at the same spot.

B is not a function. it fails the vertical line test almost immediately: the sideways "U" shapes makes it intersect the vertical line twice in one place.

C is a function. it passes the vertical line test, even though it looks a little strange. at no point does it intersect the vertical line twice.

D is a function. again, it doesn't intersect the vertical line twice.

now, to determine if a function is a one-to-one function, it must also pass the horizontal line test. this means that it doesn't intersect at two points horizontally as well. test that out on choices A, C, and D.

A is a one-to-one function because it doesn't cross in the same place horizontally, either. C and D are one-to-one functions as well.

A four sided sandbox has exactly 2 right angles to side lengths 5 feet what geometric shape as described shape of the sandbox
lana66690 [7]

Answer:

The sandbox is most likely in the shape of a kite. As it has only two right angles, it cannot be a square or other form of rectangle. It also cannot be a parallelogram, which has no right angles, nor is it a rhombus- all four sides are not of the same length.

A kite, however, has two pairs of equal-length sides that are adjacent to each other. It also has two sets of equal-measure angles, one of which can be 90° if it is a cyclic kite.
