What is the effect of temperature on the rate of photosynthesis
zhenek [66]
<span>Although the light dependent reactions of photosynthesis are not affected by changes in temperature, the light independent reactions of photosynthesis are dependent on temperature. They are reactions catalysed by enzymes. As the enzymes approach their optimum temperatures the overall rate increases.</span>

Drag each tile to the correct box. Explain the process in which hormones secreted by the pancreas function with respect to incre
ValentinkaMS [17]

Answer:

1) intake of glucose molecules from the blood by specific transporters

2) high amount of glucose in the blood, sending signals toward the pancreas

3) binding of hormones with receptors on the liver

4) release of hormones from the receptors

5) synthesis of hormones by beta cells

Explanation:

During ingestion of the meal, insulin is produced in response to high blood glucose levels (concentration of glucose increases after digestion of food). Like other hormones, insulin performed its action through binding specific signals to specific receptors e.g, liver, muscle cells.  The high glucose level in the blood send signals through hormones to liver, fat, and muscle cell receptors. These receptors release specific hormones to beta cells of the pancreas. In response to the signals from receptors, beta cells synthesize insulin to minimize glucose levels in the bloodstream.

One difference between plants and animals is that plants are
WINSTONCH [101]

Answer:

c. autotrophs and animals are heterotrophs

Explanation:

There's many differences between the plants and the animals, be it their physical appearance, way of live, how do they function, their requirements for survival. One of the major differences between the plants and the animals is that the plants are autrotrophs, while the animals are heterotrophs. The autrophs are the organisms that are able to produce their own food, thus they are producers, meaning that they do not need nutrition from other organic sources. The heterotrophs on the other side are the organisms that are not able to produce food for themselves, but instead they get their food through consuming of other living organisms, making them primary, secondary, and tertiary consumers.

A scientist wants to begin making a DNA fingerprint, but she has only a very small DNA sample. What should her next step be
azamat

For obtaining an adequate amount of DNA samples for DNA fingerprinting, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) can be used.

Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is a technique that is used to amplify the DNA sample. The steps included in PCR are:-

1. Denaturation of the double-stranded DNA (at around 95°C)

2. Annealing of the primers to each of the single-stranded DNA templates ( at around 65°C)

3. Extension or elongation of the primers by considering every single-stranded DNA as a template. This elongation is carried out by <em>Taq </em>polymerase (at around 72°C).

With each cycle of PCR, the DNA sample is increased by 2ⁿ. Here, 'n' represents the number of PCR cycles.
