Both Bills of Rights include the right to bear arms. This is the provision that ensures that each and every citizen will be allowed to own and/or have guns (subject to regulations by the government). Both Bills also forbid the implementation or carrying out of cruel or unusual punishment on anyone. This ensures that human rights will be respected at all times and that any punishment that will be enforced will be humane. They also both ensure that each person is entitled to and will be given due process of law. This means that no person can be punished/imprisoned/executed without going through the proper administrative and/or judicial proceedings to ensure that they are given the same chance as everyone else to defend themselves.

What action did Jefferson do that may have been unconstitutional
AysviL [449]

The correct answer is the Louisiana Purchase.

While the President has the power to negotiate treaties, Jefferson likely got quite a bit ahead of himself when the land was purchased before the consent of the United States Senate.

Furthermore, the Federalists believed that the acquisition of territory itself might be unconstitutional.

Why did Reconstruction end?
Ostrovityanka [42]

Answer:

Compromise of 1877: The End of Reconstruction

The Compromise of 1876 effectively ended the Reconstruction era. Southern Democrats' promises to protect civil and political rights of blacks were not kept, and the end of federal interference in southern affairs led to widespread disenfranchisement of blacks voters.
