This allowed Secretary of State John Quincy Adams during the government of James Monroe, to negotiate on favorable terms the Secession of the Territory of Las Floridas by Spain to the United States through the Treaty of Adams-Onís.

-DeWitt Clinton was a governor of the State of New York (1817-1822) famous for the concretion of major infrastructure works during his tenure. It highlights the work called Canal de Erie that currently joins the Great Lakes with the Atlantic Ocean.

-South Carolina representative John C. Calhoun called for national unity through the interdependence between industry and the commercialization of raw materials and requested that the United States industry be protected.

-On the other hand John Quincy Adams also during the presidency of James Monroe drafted the Monroe Doctrine, which was a policy of support to the Latin American countries against the colonial occupation of the European powers.
