Observational studies are those in which the researcher does not influence the phenomenon he is studying. As the name states, he simply observes as the phenomenon takes place. On the other hand, experiments require the researcher to interfere with the phenomenon, or cause it, in order to study it.

An issue that can arise from observational studies is that, due to the lack of control that a researcher has, it is not always easy to determine the conditions that are necessary for that phenomenon to take place. In the case of experimental studies, one of the problems is that experiments are usually reduced to the natural world, as experimenting in the human world raises many ethical problems.

The disadvantage of observational studies and experiments is the difficulty of collecting accurate data. In this case, the data that is collected may be unreliable since it underwent subjectively and not objectively. This may alter the results without you knowing it and will result in an unreliable interpretation of the data.

If you spin the spinner 96 times, what is the best prediction possible for the number of times it will land on yellow or red? Bl
algol [13]
Probability of it turning out the way you want =

(number of different outcomes that you like)
divided by
(total number of ways it can possibly turn out) .

Total number of ways the spinner can land = (1 + 4 + 6 + 1) = 12
Number of ways you'll be happy with = (yellow + red) = (6 + 4) = 10

Probability of a spin that you like =    10/12  =  5/6  =  (83 and 1/3) % .

If the spinner is honest, well-balanced, and doesn't stick or scrape,
and nobody blows or sits on it while it's spinning, then you'll predict
that  5/6  of the spins will turn out in ways that you like.

         5/6  of  96  =  80 spins .
