STEP 1:
Find discounted price.
Discounted $= original $ - (original $ * % discount)

Discounted $= $75 - ($75 * 20%)
Discounted $= 75 - 15
Discounted $= $60

STEP 2:
Find discounted $ plus service fee.
Price plus fee= discounted $ + (discounted $ * service fee %)

Price plus fee= $60 + ($60 * 10%)
Price plus fee= 60 + 6
Price plus fee= $66

STEP 3:
Find % change.
% change formula= (new # - original #) ÷ original # x 100

% change= (66-75)÷ 75 x 100
% change= -9 ÷ 75 x 100
% change= -0.12 x 100
% change= -12%

***the negative indicates a decrease

ANSWER: Her ticket was less than the original by 12%.

Hope this helps! :)

Jennifer had $24 to spend on five pens. After buying them she had $14. How much did each pen cost
Arturiano [62]

Answer:

Jennifer used $24-14=10 dollars in total.

The $10 was spend on five pens, each pen costing say, x, dollars.

The equation would be 10 = 5x

x = 10÷5= $2

So each pen costs $2 :)

Please help with this exercise.
algol [13]

for the lines k (x) = (- 9 / 5) x + (5 / 2) and h (x) = (2 / 5) x - (7 / 6), the solution for x will be 5 / 3 and y will be - 1 / 2.

We are given the two lines:

k (x) = (- 9 / 5) x + (5 / 2)

h (x) = (2 / 5) x - (7 / 6)

At the intersection of the two lines, we get that:

(- 9 / 5) x + (5 / 2) = (2 / 5) x - (7 / 6)

(2 / 5) x + (9 / 5) x =  (5 / 2) + (7 / 6)

(11 / 5) x = 11 / 3

3 x = 5

x = 5 / 3

y = (2 / 5) (5 / 3) - (7 / 6)

y = 2 / 3 - 7 / 6

y = - 1 / 2

Therefore, we get that, for the lines k (x) = (- 9 / 5) x + (5 / 2) and h (x) = (2 / 5) x - (7 / 6), the solution for x will be 5 / 3 and y will be - 1 / 2.
