First, note that

\dfrac{4}{5}=\dfrac{4\cdot 2}{5\cdot 2}=\dfrac{8}{10}.

She counts the mileage markers that are placed every \dfrac{1}{10} of a mile along the trail. Then she counts

\dfrac{8}{10}:\dfrac{1}{10}=\dfrac{8}{10}\cdot \dfrac{10}{1}=\dfrac{8\cdot 10}{10\cdot 1}=\dfrac{8}{1}=8 markers.

Answer: 8 markers (if first marker is on the start of trail).

Hey how would you put this in a system equation and using the Elimination method. Thank you❤

\stackrel{1~taco}{t}+\stackrel{1~glass}{m}=\stackrel{\$}{2.10}\\[0.8em]
\stackrel{2~tacos}{2t}+\stackrel{3~glasses}{3m}=\stackrel{\$}{5.15}
\end{cases}
\\\\[-0.35em]
\rule{34em}{0.25pt}\\\\
\begin{array}{llll}
t+m=2.10&\stackrel{multiplied~by}{\times -3}\implies &\stackrel{notice}{-3t\stackrel{\downarrow }{-3m}=-6.3}\\[0.8em]
2t+3m=5.15&\implies &~~2t+3m=5.15\\
\cline{3-3}
&&-t+0m=-1.15
\end{array}
\\\\[-0.35em]

\bf -t=-1.15\implies t=\cfrac{-1.15}{-1}\implies \blacktriangleright t=1.15 \blacktriangleleft
\\\\\\
\stackrel{\textit{and now substituting on the 2nd equation}}{2(1.15)+3m=5.15}\implies 2.3+3m=5.15
\\\\\\
3m=2.85\implies m=\cfrac{2.85}{3}\implies \blacktriangleright m=0.95 \blacktriangleleft

notice, we used -3 in the multiplication to <u>eliminate</u> the m's.

The following question find the value of the variables. If your answer is not an integer leave it in simplest radical form
Margarita [4]

Answer:

option 4

Step-by-step explanation:

using the sine/ cosine ratios in the right triangle and the exact values

cos30° = \frac{\sqrt{3} }{2} , sin30° = \frac{1}{2} , then

cos30° = \frac{adjacent}{hypotenuse} = \frac{x}{20\sqrt{3} } = \frac{\sqrt{3} }{2} ( cross- multiply )

2x = 20\sqrt{3} × \sqrt{3} = 20 × 3 = 60 ( divide both sides by 2 )

x = 30

and

sin30° = \frac{opposite}{hypotenuse} = \frac{y}{20\sqrt{3} } = \frac{1}{2} ( cross- multiply )

2y = 20\sqrt{3} ( divide both sides by 2 )

y = 10\sqrt{3}

A triangle has side lengths that are 8 cm, 15 cm, 17 cm. Is this a right triangle?
Alik [6]

Answer: A triangle has side lengths of 8 cm, 15 cm, and 17 cm. classify it as acute, obtuse, or right. Well, since 8^2 + 15^2 = 17^2, the sides fit the Pythagorean Theorem and thus it must be a right triangle.
