Answer:

885

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:  Amount available in the cash register= $ 125.50.

Every item is just priced at $1.00

Total amount of money at the end of day= $1085.60

            Sales tax rate= 8.5%

First finding total revenue generated at the end of day,

Total revenue at the end of day= Total\ cash\ at\ the\ end\ of\ day - Cash\ available\ at\ the\ beginning\ of\ day

∴ Total revenue at the end of day= 1085.6- 125.5= \$ 960.1

Lets assume total number of item sold be "x".

Now, forming an equation to determine the total revenue generated at the end of day.

We know, Total revenue is the number of item sold at $1 and sales tax revenue generated on the number of item sold.

⇒ \$1 \times x + \frac{8.5}{100} \times x= \$ 960.1

⇒1x+0.085x= 960.1

⇒ 1.085x= 960.1

dividing both side by 1.085

⇒x= \frac{960.1}{1.085}

∴ x= 884.884 \approx 885

Hence, total number item sold in the day is 885

Which methods will determine 70% of 42?
Dennis_Churaev [7]

Answer:

C

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

(3x + 7)(2x - 6)

Each term in the second factor is multiplied by each term in the first factor, that is

3x(2x - 6) + 7(2x - 6) ← distribute both parenthesis

= 6x² - 18x + 14x - 42 ← collect like terms

= 6x² - 4x - 42 → C

The sum of the digits of a two-digit number is 5. If nine is subtracted from the number, the digits will be reversed. Find the A
Greeley [361]

Let <em>a</em> be the number in the 10s place and <em>b</em> in the 1s place. Then the original two-digit number is 10<em>a</em> + <em>b</em>.

The sum of the digits is 5:

<em>a</em> + <em>b</em> = 5

Subtract 9 from the original number, and we get the same number with its digits reversed:

(10<em>a</em> + <em>b</em>) - 9 = 10<em>b</em> + <em>a</em>

Simplifying this equation gives

9<em>a</em> - 9<em>b</em> = 9

or

<em>a</em> - <em>b</em> = 1

Add this to the first equation above:

(<em>a</em> + <em>b</em>) + (<em>a</em> - <em>b</em>) = 5 + 1

2<em>a</em> = 6

<em>a</em> = 3

Then

3 - <em>b</em> = 1

<em>b</em> = 2

So the original number is 32. Just to check, we have 3 + 2 = 5, and 32 - 9 = 23.
