Anna burned 15 calories per minute running for x minutes and 10 calories per minute hiking for y minutes. She spent a total of 6

0 minutes running and hiking and burned 700 calories. The system of equations shown below can be used to determine how much time Anna spent of each exercise.
15x + 10y =700
x + y = 60

The answer is a 20.

you do 20 * 15 = 300

700-300 = 400 divide by 10 which is 40

20(x) + 40(y) equals 60

We have been given that a graph that represents the amount of money in dollars that Tony expects to deposit in his account in terms of the number of years since opening the account.

We are asked to find the rate of change and initial value from our given graph.

We know that initial value is the point, where, graph intersects y-axis that is when x is equal to 0.

We can see that graph starts at 5000 on y-axis, therefore, initial value is $5000.

The rate of change will be equal to slope of line. Let us find slope of line using points (0,5000) and (1,7500).

m=\frac{7500-5000}{1-0}

m=\frac{2500}{1}

m=2500

Therefore, the rate of change is $2500 per year.

The equation y=2500x+5000 represents the amount of money in dollars that Tony expects to deposit in his account.

Problem situation:
stepladder [879]

Answer:

Rewrite so x is on the left side of the inequality.

8 + 4.99x < 20

Move all terms not containing x to the right side of the inequality.

4.99x < 12

Divide each term by 4.99 and simplify.

x < 2.405

The result can be shown in multiple forms.

Inequality Form:

x < 2.405

Interval Notation:

( −∞ , 2.405 )

What is the inverse of the function F(x)= 19/x^3?
AleksAgata [21]

set f(x) equal to y

y = 19/ x^3

swap x and y

x = 19/y^3

make y the subject

xy^3 = 19

y^3 = 19/x

y =  \sqrt[3]{ \frac{19}{x} }

then just replace y with f^-1(x)

f(x) =  \sqrt[3]{ \frac{19}{x} }

hope this helped! have a good day ~ •lipika•
