The Opera House sells an average of 1,700 tickets per night when the price of each ticket is $25. An employee of the Opera House

noticed that with every one-dollar decrease in the cost of each ticket, the number of tickets sold increased by 200 tickets. Write an equation that could be used to determine the number of one-dollar decreases, x, that would yield a revenue of $55,000.

For an average sell:
1,700 * $25 = $42,500 ( revenue )
If the Opera House wants to increase a revenue:
Price of a ticket:  $25 - x ( where x is the number of 1-dollar decreases )
Number of tickets: 1,700 + 200 x
Therefore an equation is:
( 1,700 + 200 x ) * ( 25 - x ) = 55,000
We can also solve this equation, but the solutions are not whole numbers.
x 1 = 5.89 and x 2 = 10.6.
For x = 6 ( 6 times 1-dollar decreases ):
( 1,700 + 200 * 6 ) * ( 25 - 6 ) = ( 1,700 + 1,200 ) * 18 =
= 2,900 * 19 = 55,100 ( we will yield the revenue over $55,000 ).

What is the volume of the cone? Use π ≈ 3.14. 12.56 cubic units 18.84 cubic units 20.93 cubic units 25.12 cubic units
HACTEHA [7]

Answer:

volume of cone = 12.56 cubic units

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of cone = 1/3  π r² h

            r = 2

            h = 3

then

V= 1/3 3.14 * (2) ² 3

 = 12.56 cubic units

A football team received 3 penalties for 15 yards each, 1 for5 yards, and1 for half the distance to the goal from the 34- yard l
Effectus [21]
The first penalty they received is three 15 yards so total yards is 3(15 yards)
the second penalty is one 5 yard
the last penalty is half the 34 yard line(34 yard)/2
total change = 3(15 yards) + 5 yrad + (34 yard)/2
= 45 yards + 5 yards + 17 yards= 67yards

At midnight, the temperature was -8oF. At noon, the temperature was 23oF. Which expression represents the increase in temperatur
irinina [24]

Answer:

23^oF-(-8^oF)

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given that at midnight, the temperature was -8^oF. At noon, the temperature was 23^oF.

Since our temperature has increased to 23 degree Fahrenheit from -8 degree Fahrenheit, we can represent this increase in temperature as:

\text{The increase in temperature}=23^oF-(-8^oF)

Therefore, the expression 23^oF-(-8^oF) represents the increase in temperature.
