Answer:

D) The disappearance of a keystone species due to an increase in water temperature.

Explanation:

A) A decrease in fishing throughout the Great Lakes region. B) A slowdown of clear cutting and construction in the area. C) Normal snowfall in winter, ensuring that water levels remain normal. D) The disappearance of a keystone species due to an increase in water temperature.

The answer would be the disappearance of a keystone species due to an increase in water temperature.

When an ecosystem is said to be stable, it means that the communities of organisms in that ecosystem are relatively undisturbed/unchanged.

The stability of an ecosystem depends largely on the different communities of plant and animal species in interacting with the non-living components of the environment. Hence, when keystone species disappear due to increase in the temperature of the water, the various biological processes are disrupted and the stability of the ecosystem becomes threatened.

Decrease in fishing, slowdown of clear cutting and construction in the area and normal snowfall that ensures normal water levels all serve to promote the stability of the ecosystem.

The correct option is D.

Answer: The factor that could disturb the stability of the ecosystem is the fading or vanishing of a keystone specie.

This fading/vanishing of a keystone specie is as a result of a increase is the temperature of the water.

When there is increase in the temperature of water, it will result in the death of aquatic animals greatly disrupting the stability of the ecosystem because these aquatic animals are what define the ecosystem as the keystone specie, therefore, without these keystone species, the ecosystem will ceases to exist or rather be different dramatically.

If a plant takes in 6 CO2 molecules and 6 H2O molecules in order to build one C6H12O6 molecule, what element will the plant have
lora16 [44]

Answer:

Oxygen (O2)

Explanation:

This question is describing photosynthesis which uses carbon dioxide and water as reactants in the presence of sunlight to synthesize sugar (glucose) and oxygen. The general equation is as follows:

6CO2 + 6H2O ---> C6H12O6 + 6O2

According to this question, a plant takes in 6CO2 molecules and 6H2O molecules in order to build one C6H12O6 molecule. Using the balanced equation above, the extra element is OXYGEN, which still needs to be released as a gas for the equation to be balanced i.e 6O2 molecules

On the planet, PSEG, Rhinoceros Beetles are chosen for leadership positions in government based on their ability to sing Beetle
Sveta_85 [38]

Answer:

homo-zygous lethal dominant

Explanation:

A homo-zygous lethal pattern is a type of inheritance where an allele is lethal in homo-zygous individuals. In normal dominance, the expected genotype ratio when F1 heterozygous individuals are crossed is 1:2:1 (i.e. 1 homo-zygous dominant: 2 heterozygous individuals and 1 homo-zygous recessive), while the phenotypic ratio is 3:1 (3 individuals expressing the dominant allele: 1 individual only expressing the recessive allele). In this case, the homo-zygous lethal allele changes the expected F2 phenotypic ratio to 2:1 (i.e., 2 heterozygous singing Beetles : 1 homo-zygous recessive non-singing Beetles), where the partially dominant allele is lethal in homo-zygous individuals.
