You didn't provide a list of choices, but I'll provide a key example: The US intervention in Korea. In Korea, when communist forces from the North invaded the South in 1950, the United States intervened (with United Nations backing), battled to keep South Korea free and democratic, and were able to do so. The Soviet Union did not play an active, open role in that war, but did covertly supply material services to the North Korean side, as well as Soviet pilots and aircraft. Keeping communism from spreading in Korea was a way the US was practicing its policy of containment over against Soviet communist influence.

Modern international law recognizes only three lawful justifications for waging war: self-defense, defense of an ally required by the terms of a treaty, and approval by the United Nations.

What was the big debate in forming a new government after July 4, 1776? *
densk [106]

A big debate in forming a new government after July, 1776 was who should have more power - states or central government.

Forming a new government

 • After the Declaration of Independence, the biggest issue in forming government was state rights v. government rights.
 • There was a general feeling that state rights were more important.

As a result, states held more collective power than the central government which was quite weak. Eventually there was a recognition that the central government needed to be powerful to maintain unity.

In conclusion, option B is correct.
