How are gains in civil rights achieved?
LUCKY_DIMON [66]
Most Civil Rights are achieved when the group does it peacefully, have a lot of people backing them up, and the cause seems right.

If the group uses violence, many people would think of it as an uprising instead of a group of people trying to get equality

What were the two main reasons Hoover won the 1928 election?

be specific
dangina [55]

Answer:

1. The economy was booming under eight years of Republican leadership, and people didn't want to ruin it. However, this would all come to an end in 1929 during Hoover's presidency as the Wall Street Stock Market crashed in October 1929.

2. The Democratic party put up the Roman Catholic candidate Al Smith at a time when anti-Catholic sentiment in America was still strong. Many had resentment towards the Catholic church at the time.

Border ruffians who is disrupted Kansas before its state hood where from
vlada-n [284]

Missouri

This event is referred to as Bleeding Kansas and took place when Kansas was voting on whether or not to be a slave state.

Kansas had been granted popular sovereignty meaning they were allowed to vote on whether or not the state would be a slave or free state. Abolitionists flooded the state to encourage citizens of Kansas to vote to be a free state. However, Missouri being a slave state was concerned about being located next to a free state, so people from Missouri crossed the border and attempted to vote for slave status. While there, they got into large riots with abolitionists hence the name "Bleeding Kansas".
