by soldiers. Civilians were  limited to a certain amount of gasoline to

save it for the war effort.

Conscription.-  Mandatory conscription was established to recruit more

soldiers for the war.

Cencorship and propaganda.- The government  controlled public  opinion through  posters and  other media.  The government  withheld bad news, allowing  mainly positive news to reach the public.
