What would earth be like without the greenhouse effect?

Biology

Freezing. The greenhouse effect is the way how earth is kept warm , as the heat radiation is trapped through the gasses ( gasses reflect the radiation back to earth) without the green house effect, the earth I assume would be all "iced up"and " bare and bold" up, and life (as we know it ) would not survive ( some others forms of life may take place but we never know...)

Ou just read an article on the Endosymbiotic Theory. Based on what you read, what is the importance of the Endosymbiotic Theory?
VikaD [51]

Answer: The endosymbiotic theory suggests that eukaryotic organisms evolve from primitive prokaryotic organisms.

Explanation:

According to the endosymbiotic theory the organelles like mitochondria and chloroplast in the eukaryotic cells have arisen from aerobic bacteria. The aerobic bacteria being prokaryotic cell was consumed by the anaerobic bacteria or prokaryotic cell.

The following are the evidences of the origin of eukaryotic organisms from prokaryotic organisms:

1. The chloroplast and mitochondria have circular DNA like bacteria.

2. The mitochondria and chloroplast reproduce through binary fission which also occurs in bacteria.

If the leaves of a geranium plant receive an adequate supply of raw materials, which graph shows how the rate of photosynthesis
Korolek [52]
I think the correct graph would have light intensity on the x-axis (because light intensity is the independent variable) and a measure of photosynthetic rate (either O2 evolution or CO2 consumption) on the y-axis (because the rate of photosynthesis is the dependent variable)... hope this helps

A glass dish containing a few drops of water in the presence of carbon dioxide gas, nitrogen gas, and small organic compounds is
Aneli [31]

The correct answer is (a )

This experiment shows that the life has evolved from the inorganic materials. The substances like carbon dioxide, nitrogen gas when heated and exposed to UV radiation led to generation of life supporting element called as amino acids. The UV radiation and heat provided the energy needed by gases to convert into amino acids.
