(Images Attached Are The 3 Paragraphs!! PARAGRAPHS ARE OUT OF ORDER BUT ARE NUMBERED 1,2, AND 3!!)

Read the three-paragraph excerpt from "Confessions of a 30-Year-Old Gamer," a TIME arcticle by Coates. Just like Jane McGonigal, Ta-Nehisi Coates writes in first person about the appeal of playing massively multiplayer online games (MMOG), but Coates uses different rhetorical moves to persuade his audience.

Read the three paragraph passage. Then write a well-developed paragraph identifying one of Coate's points and describing one rhetorical move that Coates uses to support that point. Be sure to include the intended effect of that move of the reader.

KATRIN_1 [288]

Uhh... what squirrel..?

When squirrels look at any mammal larger than them, they feel threatened. A squirrel will rarely think of you as a friend.

Squirrels are also known to have diseases, so if you come across a squirrel who is giving you a weird look, walk away. They bite.

Answer:

Step 1: Write a counterclaim. Write a sentence that contradicts the claim.

Step 2: Explain the counterclaim. The more “real” you make the opposing position, the more “right” you will seem when you disprove it.

Step 3: Rebut the counterclaim

Also an Examples of counterclaims include: … After a bank has sued a customer for an unpaid debt, the customer counterclaims (sues back) against the bank for fraud in procuring the debt. The court will sort out the different claims in one lawsuit (unless the claims are severed).
