Whereupon petitioner prayed for a writ of error from this court, which was allowed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Louisiana. MR. JUSTICE BROWN, after stating the case, delivered the opinion of the court. This case turns upon the constitutionality of an act of the General Assembly of the State of Louisiana, passed in 1890, providing for separate railway carriages for the white and colored races. Acts 1890, No. 111, p. 152. The first section of the statute enacts "that all railway companies carrying passengers in their coaches in this State shall provide equal but separate accommodations for the white and colored races by providing two or more passenger coaches for each passenger train, or by dividing the passenger coaches by a partition so as to secure separate accommodations: Provided, That this section shall not be construed to apply to street railroads. In the Plessy v. Ferguson case, the Supreme Court's ruling of the "separate but equal" law being constitutional was problematic because the "separate but equal" law accepted segregation and the discrimination that were against blacks.

Do parents have different rules, standards or hopes for their sons than for their daughters? Why or why not, give an example.
sp2606 [1]

Answer:

Yes, they do! Most parents are more concerned about their son's education than for their daughter's. Whilst parents may not intend to treat sons and daughters differently, research shows that they do. Sons appear to get preferential treatment in that they receive more helpful praise, more time is invested in them, and their abilities are often thought of in higher regard. They also provide better nutrition and medical care for boys than girls, and indulge in a host of other practices that discriminate against girls. Even in this day and age, families openly celebrate the birth of a son, while the birth of a daughter is not always greeted in the same manner.

The most dangerous game , why does ivan not say anything as he points the gun towards rainsford's chest ?
pentagon [3]
Ivan does not say anything because he cannot speak.

After Rainsford comes to Zaroff's door, Ivan answers with a gun pointed at Rainsford. Rainsford tries to talk to Ivan, but he does not respond. When Zaroff comes to meet them he explains that even though Ivan is incredibly strong, he is "deaf and dumb" which means he is unable to hear or speak.
