Political parties get started based upon prevailing ideas of a time.Based upon these ideas we went from the wig party for example, which was around in Benjamin Franklins time period.In more recent years more parties have developed like Republican, Democratic, and the Independent party which are here today. These parties have very different ideals. The success of each party depends upon the overall change in views of the people. This can help to determine policy changes abroad or at home. For example whether taxes are raised or lowered. It can also effect if territories are bought for example the USA buying of the Louisiana Territory.
