Answer: 2700 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Nate' s mother drives 225 miles back and forth to work each month.

We know that there are 12 months in a years.

Therefore, by using the MULTIPLICATION OPERATION, we have

The number of miles she drives back and forth to work in one year will be :_

Miles drive each month x Number of months in a year

=225\times12=2700\text{ miles}

Hence, she drives 2700 miles back and forth to work in one year.

So 1 year is 12 months, you want to multiply 225 and 12 which equals 2,700 miles. 2,700 miles is the answer.

Which irrational number can be multiplied by negative square root of 41 to get a product that equals 1?
melomori [17]

For this case we define the following variable:

x: unknown number

We then have the following equation:

- \sqrt {41} x = 1

From here, we clear the value of x.

We have then:

x = - \frac {1} {\sqrt {41}}

Answer:

An irrational number that can be multiplied by negative square root of 41 to get a product that equals 1 is:

x = - \frac {1} {\sqrt {41}}

Which is a irrational number
A. 0.277277277.....
B.0.333....
C.0.7
D.3.14
Alecsey [184]
A) This is a repeating decimal which means it is possible to write it in the form p/q where p & q are integers and q is nonzero. So we can rule out choice A.

B) Similar to the answer choice above, we have another repeating decimal. So we can rule out choice B.

C) This is a terminating decimal. It does not go on forever. We can write this as a fraction (0.7 = 7/10). So we can rule out choice C.

D) This is also terminating so it seems like your teacher made a typo. What I'm thinking is that the 3.14 was meant to be a decimal that goes on forever without a pattern. This is a well known number called pi. I'm assuming that's what your teacher was going for.

So I'd go with choice D as the answer.

Describe the shape resulting from a vertical, angled, and , horizontal cross section of a rectangular prism.
Dennis_Churaev [7]
For example, lets say:
L = 10
H = 6
W = 4

Imagine the shape is facing slightly towards your left
A left vertical cross section (perpendicular to the base) of the cuboid would result in a 10 by 6 rectangle
A right vertical cross section (perpendicular to the base) of the cuboid would result in a 6 by 4 rectangle
A horizontal cross section (parallel to the base) of the cuboid would result in a 10 by 4 rectangle
An angled cross section (through the middle) would also give a rectangle but the dimensions would be different. If the cut went from one '4' edge to the one in the opposite corner, the length of that would be found using Pythagoras
a² + b² = c²
6² + 10² = c²
36 + 100 = 136
√136 ≈ 11.66cm
11.66 by 4 rectangle

The shows that the resulting shape will always be a rectangle for these cross sections.
The only case in which it would not, would be if one of the faces of the cuboid was a square - in which case one of the cross sections would also be a square.
