The reality is that the Aztecs actually sacrificed only those who were strong enough and victorious to their gods, they wouldn´t, and couldn´t sacrifice someone that had lost a battle, they usually sacrificed the best of them all, contrary to the popular belief it was an honor to be sacrificed in war, and only a few enemies were sacrificed to the gods, only those who deserved it.

Put simply the United States did not concern itself with events and alliances in Europe and thus stayed out of the war. Wilson was firmly opposed to war, and believed that the key aim was to ensure peace, not only for the United States but across the world.
