Well the first thing you have to do is find the sum of the numbers given. 5.2 + 8.3 + 8.5+ 7.7+ 7.8= 37.5

the equation would now be 37.5+y/6 = 7.1

After this you multiply 7.1 by 6 which is 42.6 turning the equation to 37.5 + y = 42.6.

Then you subtract 37.5 from 42.6 making y =5.1

Harlon recorded this set of data, which contains an outlier. 163, 97, 184, 199, 169, 175 What is the range of this set of data?
maks197457 [2]
Hey there!

To find the range, first put the numbers in order from smallest to largest.
97, 163, 169, 175, 184, 199

Then take the largest number, 199, and subtract the smallest number (in this case, the outlier) which is 97.

199-97=102

Prove equal chords in the same circle subtend equal angles at circumference. Thank you!
NARA [144]

Let AB and CD be two equal chords on the circumference. If you consider the triangles AOB and COD, where O is the center of the circumference, you have:

  • AO = CO, because they're both radii
  • BO = DO, for the same reason
  • AB=CD, given

So, the two triangles have the same side, and are congruent by the SSS theorem.

This implies that they also have the same angles, and in particular, the angles AOB and COD are the same.

What is the answer to this?
katrin [286]

Answer:

\huge\boxed{-28}

Step-by-step explanation:

We can substitute the given values of a, b, and c to find the value of this expression.

-4 | a + b - c|

-4 | 3 + (-2) - (-6)|

We know that <em>two negatives make a positive. </em>This means that -2 - (-6) will be the same this as -2+6

-4 | 3 + -2 + 6|

Adding a negative is the same as subtracting a positive.

\4 | 3-2+6|\\\\3-2+6 = 7

-4 \cdot 7 = -28

Hope this helped!

What is the slope of the line that passes through the points (3,3) and (-3,-1).
Oksana_A [137]

The slope of the line is 2/3

Step-by-step explanation:

The slope of a line is the rate of change of the dependent variable (y) with respect to the rate of change of the independent variable (x). Mathematically,

m=\frac{\Delta y}{\Delta x}

where

\Delta y is the increment of the y-variable

\Delta x is the increment of the x-variable

Given two points of coordinates (x_1,y_1) and (x_2,y_2) belonging to the line, the slope of the line can be calculated as

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

In this problem, the following two points belong to the line:

(3,3)

(-3,-1)

Therefore, the slope of the line is:

m=\frac{-1-(3)}{-3-(3)}=\frac{-4}{-6}=\frac{2}{3}
