A figure is translated using the vector (-2,4)  What translation vector would move the image back to its original position?

A translation formation is one of the simplest transformation since all it does is just to move the position of the figure without changing the size, the angles, or any other characteristics other than the position along.

So a translation by a vector (-2, 4) means that all points of the given figure is moved by:

(x – 2, y + 4)

Meaning that the whole figure is moved to the left by 2 units and moved to top by 4 units

So to revert this back into the original figure, we simply have to move again by:

(x + 2, y – 4)

Therefore move the whole figure to the right by 2 units and to the bottom by 4 units. So the translation to use is a vector (2, -4)

Answer:

(2, -4)

How to graph f(x)=(x-2)^2+5
tatyana61 [14]

That's a quadratic, a nice parabola in vertex form.

The parabola has a positive x^2 term, so it's a CUP, concave up positive. It will have a minimum at the vertex, which is (2,5). Plot that point.

Now we need a couple of guide points to draw the usual parabola going up from both sides of its vertex. We try x=0 giving (0,9) and see that x=4 also gives 9, (4,9). Plot the parabola through those two points and the vertex and you're done.

Have to bake a lot of brownies to sell! You have plenty of flour, cocoa, milk, and oil, but you only have 6 1/2 sticks of butter
Tems11 [23]

Answer: 8 + 2/3 batches of brownies you can bake.

Step-by-step explanation:

6 1/2 butter  = 6 + 1/2 = (2·6 + 1)/2 = 13/2 sticks of butter, we have this

Since we have 13/2 sticks of butter and each batch of brownies needs 3/4 of a stick of butter, we have to divide the amount of butter we have between the amount of butter we use to bake a batch of brownies.

13/2 butter ÷ 3/4 butter/batch = 13·4/2·3 batches = 52/6 batches = 8 + 2/3 batches

Answer: 8 + 2/3 batches of brownies you can bake.
