Deshaun the trainer has two solo workout plans that he offers his clients: Plan A and Plan B. Each client does either one or the

other (not both). On Monday there were 3 clients who did Plan A and 5 who did Plan B. On Tuesday there were 6 clients who did Plan A and 2 who did Plan B. Deshaun trained his Monday clients for a total of 10 hours and his Tuesday clients for a total of 10 hours. How long does each of the workout plans last?

Answer:

Plan A and plan B both lasts for 1.25 hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

Trainer has two solo workout plans Plan A and Plan B.

Let the trainer trains for plan A = x hours and for plan B = y hours

As per statement given in the question,

"Dueshan trained his Monday clients for a total of 10 hours"

Equation will be, 3x + 5y = 10 --------(1)

And other statement says,

"Dueshan trained his Tuesday clients for a total of 10 hours"

6x + 2y = 10

3x + y = 5

y = 5 - 3x ----------(2)

Replace the value of y in equation 2 from equation 1.

3x + 5(5 - 3x) = 10

3x + 25 - 15x = 10

25 - 12x = 10

12x = 25 - 10

12x = 15

x = \frac{15}{12}

x = 1.25 hours

From equation 1

y = 5 - 3×1.25

y = 5 - 3.75

y = 1.25 hours

Therefore, plan A and plan B both lasts for 1.25 hours.

Calculate the arithmetic sequence in which a9=17 and the common difference is d=-2.1
jek_recluse [69]

Answer:

S_{31}=71.3

Step-by-step explanation:

The nth term of an arithmetic sequence is given by the formula,

U_n=a_1+(n-1)d

We were given that the 9th term is 17.

\Rightarrow 17=a_1+(9-1)(-2.1)

\Rightarrow 17=a_1+(8)\times(-2.1)

\Rightarrow 17=a_1-\frac{84}{5}

\Rightarrow 17+\frac{84}{5}=a_1

\Rightarrow a_1=\frac{169}{5}

The sum of the first n-terms is given by the formula,

S_n=\frac{n}{2}(2a_1+(n-1)d)

To find S_{31}, we substitute n=31, a_1=\frac{169}{5} and d=-2.1.

\Rightarrow S_{31}=\frac{31}{2}(2(\frac{169}{5}+(31-1)(-2.1))

\Rightarrow S_{31}=\frac{31}{2}(2(\frac{169}{5}+(30)(-2.1))

\Rightarrow S_{31}=\frac{31}{2}(\frac{23}{5})

\Rightarrow S_{31}=\frac{713}{10}

\Rightarrow S_{31}=71.3

How many times can a nine go into a 20
PolarNik [594]

A nine can go into a 20 two whole times.  After that, there's still
some room left in the 20, but it's only enough room for a 2.

teri and her friends bought a party size sandwich that was 7/9 yard long. they ate 2/3 of a yard. what part of the yard was left
Marysya12 [62]
Teri had 7/9 of a sandwich, you need to find a common denominator for 2/3. Multiply 2/3 by 3 which is 6/9. (6/9 is how much they ate) Then you subtract 7/9 by 6/9 (7/9-6/9=1/9)
Answer:1/9 of a yard

I hope this helped.. not much of a teacher hahah :)
