The Franciscan monks are beggars are following the role of Jesus Christ and his examples by giving up all their possessions and live off the kindness of other people. They did good deeds and minister to the people in exchange for food and clothing, They did not accept money only this is why they were called beggars
The Franciscan monks are the followers of the rule of St. Francis. St Francis lived in 13th century and used to live a simple life without much possession.Today there are three branches of this order. Franciscans live in a community house under the guidance of a Guardian. There are at least three brothers in a house and the number never exceeds five. They own nothing, rent their homes, share their resources and also work to meet their needs and if the income is still not enough then the brothers beg.
