The Presidential election of 2008 is considered historic because it was the first time that an African American candidate reached the presidency of the United States of America, as Democrat Barack Obama won against the Republican candidate John McCain.

It was also the first time that one of the two main political parties in the country supported the presidential candidacy of an African-American.

Which religion were practiced in the Mughal empire?
galben [10]

The Mughal or Mogul Empire ruled most of India and Pakistan in the 16th and 17th centuries. The time of their reign was marked by a period of peaceful religious and cultural blossoming between Hindus and Muslims in India, whose culmination is the golden era of Islamic-Hindu cross-influences. This empire, in turn, strengthened the influence of Islam in South Asia, extending Muslim, especially Persian culture. Mughal were Muslims who ruled the Hindu majority.
