A practice called slash and burn is sometimes used to clear fields for farming. Slash and burn is done by cutting down trees in

an area and then setting fire to the land left behind, destroying all plant life. What is a way in which slash and burn farming can negatively affect an area?

One reason i could have a negative affect is that the wildlife there would have no chance to relocate. Another is that it could cause a shortage in food for the prey type animals thinning their population witch in turn would kill off predatory animals and would through the whole ecosystem off balance. Hope it helps :).

Plants that if left to self pollinate produce offspring identical to themselves are called
denpristay [2]

Answer:

True-breeding plants.

Explanation:

The self pollination in plants that produces progeny with similar characteristics or traits is called True-breeding plant. The parent and progeny both are identical genetically in true-breeding plants. The alleles shared between both offspring and parental plant is also same. The homozygous alleles are present in such organisms. The presence of homozygous alleles mean both alleles are same thus resulting in similar characters. Thus, plants that if left to self pollinate produce offspring identical to themselves are called True-breeding plants.

Describe two technological innovations that improved our understanding of human evolution.
FromTheMoon [43]

The first is gene sequencing. This allows the sequence of nucleotides on DNA of different organisms to be identified. The sequence is then compared the bigger the difference in this sequence, the stranger the organisms are with regards to the evolutionary relationship.

The second is carbon dating. This enables anthropologists to determine the age of fossils by calculating the time taken, in half-lives, by particular elements to decay, such as carbon-14

Reorder by size
Cell, nucious DNA, chromosoma,gen, nucleoti
sp2606 [1]

Answer:

Explanation:

The arrangement below is from the smallest to the biggest

nucleotide → nucleus DNA → gene → chromosome → cell

The nucleotide is the smallest because it is what makes up the DNA, it is made up of a nitrogenous base, ribose sugar and a phosphate group.

Nucleus DNA follows because it is bigger than a nucleotide (as said earlier) but is singly found in the chromosome which is present in the nucleus.

The gene, which can be assumed to be the entire genome of the organism, involves both the chromosomal gene and the extrachromosomal gene (like the mitochondrial DNA).

Chromosome is made up of a DNA molecule and protein which makes it bigger than the Nucleus DNA and the gene because it contains several genes.

The Cell contains all the molecules/organelles mentioned above and as such is the largest among them all.
