Any form of feedback, especially when it relates to arguments and ideas, needs to be critical, incisive, precise, and constructive in order for it to be effective. It needs to be critical and incisive in order for the one receiving the feedback to be able to identify possible weak points in the argument and even counterclaims that could be presented. It also needs to be precise and constructive in order for that person to be able to easily identify possible shortcomings in his or her arguments and be able to correct them or make them more precise.
