The Dawes Act of 1887 authorized the federal government to break up tribal lands by partitioning them into individual plots. Only those Native Americans who accepted the individual allotments were allowed to become US citizens.

What is Dawes Act?

On tribal lands within the United States, the Dawes Act of 1887 governed land rights. Its authority, which bears Senator Henry L. Dawes's name from Massachusetts, allows the President of the United States to divide communal Native American tribal landholdings into allotments for Native American family and individual heads of household.

By making Native Americans "assume a capitalist and proprietary connection with property" that did not previously exist in their cultures, this would change the traditional systems of land tenure into a system of private property that is imposed by the government. The law gave tribes the choice to sell the federal government any unclaimed lands. Before allotments of private property could be made, the government had to determine "which Indians were eligible," which prompted a "official hunt.

What two groups experienced much conflict in Palestine as they struggled to attain their nationalist goals? (Points : 2) Turks a
Marina86 [1]

After almost two thousand years of life in the scattering, the Jews began to return to Israel after the Second World War. It was preceded by many agreements, promises, that by the decision of the UN, the Jews would be allowed to form their own state in Palestine. Of course this did not go without conflicts and struggle, because the Arabs who had already lived in Palestine claimed that Palestine had been their land for many centuries, calling on mosques that exist on the hill of the temple. On the other hand, the Jews claimed that Palestine was actually Israel, their promised land according to the Bible, and called for a crying wall, the remains of the Jewish temple, which according to the Bible existed before the Arabs were in Palestine.

The answer is: Jews and Arabs.

How was japan before ww2 started?
leonid [27]

Answer:

U.S. Commodore Matthew Perry opened American trade relations with Japan in 1854. President Theodore Roosevelt brokered a 1905 peace treaty in the Russo-Japanese War that was favorable to Japan. The two signed a Commerce and Navigation Treaty in 1911. Japan had also sided with the U.S., Great Britain, and France during World War I.

During that time, Japan also embarked on forming an empire modeled after the British Empire. Japan made no secret that it wanted economic control of the Asia-Pacific region.

By 1931, however, U.S.-Japanese relations had soured. Japan's civilian government, unable to cope with the strains of the global Great Depression, had given way to a militarist government. The new regime was prepared to strengthen Japan by forcibly annexing areas in the Asia-Pacific. It started with China.
