The development of the automobile greatly changed American society. The car will become the most popular form of transportation on a day to day basis for many American citizens. Along with this the way in which the automobile was developed, through the assembly line, would become a popular method used to mass produce goods.

Besides that, the creation of cars lead to the development of more roads in the US. The interstate system, which connects the eastern part of the US to the west, was developed during the 1950's and was caused by the popularity of cars during this era.
