The correct answer is D) Each one could represent the point of view of a different region of the country.

Henry Clay, John C. Calhoun, and Daniel Webster have been effective at keeping the Union together in that each one could represent the point of view of a different region of the country.

There have always been men that have notorious influence in the politics of the United States. After the War of 1812, these three congressmen -Henry Clay, John C. Calhoun, and Daniel Webster- had so much influence on Congress that they were called "The Great Triumvirate." They helped to give birth to the Compromise of 1850, they created alternative temporary solutions to the issue of slavery in the country and found ways to avoid or delay the beginning of the Civil War.

It was stated in the book that “The real force that ended the Soviet Union itself and most especially in the expectations and plans of the new reform leadership that came to power in 1985.” This event led to Mikhail being elected and trying to make new policies, but it didn’t work the way he wanted.

Nationalism was a threat to the Soviet Union, just like what the book said, “"That tenacious nationalism, more than any other factor, crushed their hopes for reform and destroyed the Soviet Union.” That is why I believe that communism went out with only a whimper and not a bang.

Masja [62]
John Winthrop was an extremely influential Puritan who wrote the speech about the "City upon a hill."

In this speech, he talks about how when the Puritans establish a new society in the New England colonies, they must be ideal citizens. Winthrop discusses several themes including working together as one and using their religious values in order to shape their decision making. He says that if this group fails to live a religious life and work together, God's blessing may be taken away and will result in several other negative consequences.

This greatly affected these new citizens. They realized that establishment and survival of their new town is about much more than just organizing food and shelter. Rather, their actions will determine how individuals throughout the world view Puritans.
