Realism is an artistic movement that is a reaction against romanticism. It rejected all the thoughts and emotions which the Romantic Movement favored. These represent the vices of humans. Also, they found the dead body of Huck's father who was murdered. Jim didn't want Huck to see that the body was of his father, therefore he hid the body's face.
