A cell bearing CD8 on its surface would be most similar to or have the most in common with which of the following cells?
Murljashka [212]

Answer:

Option). NK cells.

Explanation:

Cluster of differentiation 8 (CD8) can bed defined as a transmembrane glycoprotein that acts a co-receptor for the receptor present on T cells (TCR). The CD8 is marker for T_c cells (cytotoxic T cells) as it is predominantly present on cell surface of these cells.

Along with cytotoxic cells, CD8 molecule is also expressed in surface of natural killer cells (NK cells), thymocytes, and myeloid dendritic cells.

Hence, a cell having CD8 on its surface (cytotoxic T cell) would be most similar to NK cells.

What is most likely to happen if an individual restricts consumption of dietary fat to very low levels
nadezda [96]

Nowadays, many people across the world are reducing the consumption of dietary fats to avoid the onset of chronic heart and kidney diseases. However, a low-fat diet is not always a great diet for health.

The fact is that all fats do not affect the body in same way. The refined and processed fats found in restaurant and packaged foods cannot be good to health. But natural fats have very healthy effects on us.

Fats perform many important functions in our body. They play important role in regulation of body temperature, weight management, nutrient absorption, boosting immune function, insulation of body organs and maintenance of healthy hair and nails.

A diet poor in fats can cause serious issues for the health of an individual, such as:

  • Poor Brain Function
  • Compromised Heart Health
  • Hormone Imbalances (Including Sex Hormones Testosterone and Estrogen)
  • Weight Gain and Overeating
  • Higher Risk of Insulin Resistance and Diabetes
  • Higher Risk for Depression and Anxiety
  • Gut-Related Problems

Therefore, a moderate intake of fats (>15 % of energy) is important to maintain a good health of the individual.
