Let the distance of the first part of the race be x, and that of the second part, 15 - x, thenx/8 + (15 - x)/20 = 1.1255x + 2(15 - x) = 40 x 1.1255x + 30 - 2x = 453x = 45 - 30 = 15x = 15/3 = 5
Therefore, the distance of the first part of the race is 5 miles and the time is 5/8 = 0.625 hours or 37.5 minutesThe distance of the second part of the race is 15 - 5 = 10 miles and the time is 1.125 - 0.625 = 0.5 hours or 30 minutes.

Erin has scanned a 4 × 5-inch postcard, and she wants to reduce it to make a graphic for her Web site. She will use a scale fact
Rasek [7]
Just multiply both dimensions by 2 to make it into centimeters.

Therefore,

4*2 x 5*2 (in inches) will be:

8cm x 10cm (in centimeters)

We conclude that the dimensions of her postcard into a graphic on her web page will be 8x10 in centimeter units.

I hope my answer has come to your help. Thank you for posting your question here in Brainly.

You need 3 sticks of butter for every 24 giant cookies you bake.
marta [7]

Answer:

Sticks of butter : 2

Number of cookies : 40

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that :You need 3 sticks of butter for every 24 giant cookies you bake.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sticks of butter Number of cookies

  3 24

  x 16

5 y

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let the unknown be x and y..

Since you need 3 sticks of butter for every 24 giant cookies you back

Then 24/3 = 8

Since the number of cookies is 16 then 16/8 = 2

Thus x = 2

Next for y.

Since you need 3 sticks of butter for every 24 giant cookies you back

Then 5 * 8 = 40

Thus, y = 40

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Completed table below:

Sticks of butter Number of cookies

  3 24

2 16

5 40

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
