This battle at a confederate victory
Aye, we don't have any options, article, book or anything to know what and when we are writing about. I will do my best though.
Patriotism. What the heck is it:
Patriotism is supporting one(s) country. If you are from France you would be a patriot and support France. If you are from America you would support America. Your just standing up for and supporting your country / where you live.
How does / can it get out of hand:
If someone from one county or place runs into a person from another county or place, then things could get ugly. (Not physically run into, but figuratively.) Those two people could get into an argument about who's country is better, politics, who runs / leads them better and who is more successful.
Hope that made sense (I don'e really know what I wrote down)

At the end of WW1, Germany had to agree to The Treaty of Versailles, which basically took away most of the countries rights and put them into a deep depression. The economy was failing, people were poor and hopeless. When Hitler came into play, people were desperate for a change and Hitler promised to make Germany the greatest country of it's time. Because the country was so desperate for hope for the future Hitler could do anything he wanted because everyone was hoping it would improve the conditions excessively.
The best answer is D. The Truman doctrine helped to prevent the spread of Communism past the already established boundaries after WWII. The United States would give economic assistance to countries in need so they did not have to turn to a Communist country for assistance. It wasn't just for third world countries, but any independent country in need that the United States felt might have Communist assistance and allow that ideology to expand.
In 1979 Mother Theresa was given a Nobel Peace Prize for her work with the poor.
