Why did George Washington oppose political parties?

History

Washington opposed political parties because he believed they would divide and ultimately tear apart the very newly formed nation. He felt that the driving force behind political parties was that they derailed and shouted down the ideas and opinions of the other party on principle. Washington wanted the new United States to remain a unified country whose citizens supported one another, and he felt political parties would go against this vision completely.

What did colonial women take part in to protest British tax policies
gayaneshka [121]

The women had an important participation in the claim for the taxes imposed by the British parliament on the colonies.  There was a great manifestation of discontent and discomfort with the British, for example, in the domestic sphere. The women, supporting the Revolution, started to promote the American Industry. Women Patriots avoided buying imported British clothes, replacing them with home-made clothes. As a patriotic act, the priority was given to American products, refusing to buy and use goods of British origin.
