I believe the answer would be D. The ancient pyramid was a memorial structure to the dead. 

Mostly the ancient pyramids were reserved solely for Pharaoh when he died. The Egyptians believed that the triangular structure would help Pharaoh descend to the heavens easily through the point in the top and the staircase structure would help him climb there.
