1. <u>Phillis Wheatley's poetry</u> : D Realism. She was a poet of African-American nationality who suffered slavery. She was a pioneer in publishing a book of poetry in the colonies. Her literary pieces revolved around the African-American social realities.

2- <u>Mark Twain's The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County</u> :E Regionalism.  This story shares  typical characteristics from the genre of Regionalism such as middle-class characters, a language related to the setting and a writing style similar to the colloquial language of the location.

3-<u>Walt Whitman's poetry</u>: B American Romanticism. Walt Whitman is one of the major figures in the movement of romanticism. The belief that nature was the root of all beautiful things is present in many of his poems, theme that is relevant in the American Romanticism movement.

4-<u>Henry David Thoreau's Walden</u>: B American Romanticism. Thoreau was a prominent Trascendentalist and was mostly focused on the nature aspect. His book Walden is full of American Romantic themes such as nature, self-reliance and staying true to your own identity.

5 <u>Trickster tales and creation stories</u>: A Early American and Colonial Literature. A trickster is a character which plays tricks or does not follow conventional rules or behaviour. It is commonly found in myths of diverse cultures. In this case the trickster is contained in this book full of tales and stories concerning Indian cultures and religions.
