Answer:

Containment

Explanation:

The policy of containment focused on keeping communism and the Soviet Union's influence limited, rather than by trying to confront the Soviet Union directly or eliminate communism completely. It influenced US foreign policy by prompting intervention in places like Korea to stop the spread of communism.

George F. Kennan recommended the policy of containment which set the tone for US involvement in world relations following World War II. Kennan was an American diplomat in Moscow after World War II. In 1946, he sent what became known as "the long telegram" of his advice about what the USA needed to do about the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR).

People feared a direct confrontation between the USA and the USSR. Kennan advised not pushing the conflict too much, but instead just try to "contain" the Soviet Union and wait for their system to collapse under the weight of its own problems.

Which of these costs seem justified? Which costs seem unjustified? France debt
dimulka [17.4K]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although there are no options attached or further references or context, we can say the following.

Regarding the French debt, the costs that seemed justified were the French intervention in the Seven Years War, because France had a great rivalry against England, and France had to send troops to the North American territory and other parts of the European continent.

Another justified cost was the support the government of France offered the Continental Army when it was fighting against the British troops during the Revolutionary War of Independence. At that time, the United Kingdom was the natural enemy of France.

Now, the costs that seemed unjustified were the following. First the construction of luxurious buildings such as the Versailles Palace, in the outskirts of Paris. This was an excessive massive luxurious building in a time where most of the French people were very poor.

The other unjustified cost was the extravagant parties and luxurious lifestyle of the King of France Louis XIV and his wife Maria Antonieta. Fancy parties, fancy clothes, and fancy food, when the Third State in France was dying of hunger.

We then can say that a class conflict started the revolution.

The French Revolution began in 1789. The Storming of the Bastille started the hostilities in Paris, France. French people were tired of the tyranny of the monarch. The class system had produced social inequality and the tax burden on the thirds state (the commoners, the poor people) angered the French.

The clear and present danger test Question 20 options: was adopted by the U.S. Supreme Court after it found the bad tendency tes
Contact [7]

Answer:

The correct answer is A. The clear and present danger was adopted by the U.S. Supreme Court after it found the bad tendency test allowed government to punish too much harmless speech.

Explanation:

The rule of clear and present danger is a principle adopted as a standard that restricts freedom of speech and the press. It is a standard used when a court or related agency tries to suppress it with a suspension order, etc. in case it leaks or infringes on the honor or privacy of others. It was first used by Justice Holmes in the Schenck v. United States (1919).

This principle imposes restrictions on the media only if there is a current risk of direct harm, or if the act is intended to cause such harm.

Justice Holmes judged "degree and proximity." In other words, the requirements were assessed to be significant and clear risks (degrees) and clear or present (risk or present).
