To break the numbers down, 96.5% of all the Earth's water is contained within the oceans as salt water, while the remaining 3.5% is freshwater lakes and frozen water locked up in glaciers and the polar ice caps. Of that fresh water, almost all of it takes the form of ice: 69% of it, to be exact.

What is the distinctive type of agriculture practiced in the population concentrations of East and South Asia, and how does this
zepelin [54]

Answer:

Plantation agriculture.

Explanation:

 • The parts of the east and southeast Asia lies in the region of china and that of Indian and the islands of the Indonesia these communities cultivate and domesticate crops that have commercial value and the crops include the paddy cultivation and the cultivation of sugarcane and other plantation crops.
 • Thus this system of the agriculture in the south and east Asia is that of the Japanese know or the cultivation of the rice and the millets as these cities are the most populated nations in Asia and thus have rice as the major crops that are grown on a large scale to meet the growing demands and the needs of the growing population.
 • But various problems are related to this type pf the cultivation as the environmental problems of the agricultural runoff and the runoff system that is influenced by the presence of the pesticides and the other toxic chemicals that harm and degrade the quality and the quantity of the soil and the water system and thus this impacts the environment to a greater extent.

4 types of plate boundaries and earth features they form
madreJ [45]
Answer:

- Divergent plate boundary, which causes volcanic activity and shallow earthquakes.

- Convergent plate boundary, which has one plate that “dives (‘subducts’) beneath the other, resulting in a variety of earthquakes and a line of volcanos on the overriding plate”

- Transform plate boundary, where plates slide laterally past one another, producing shallow earthquakes but little to no volcanic activity.

- Hotspot, “where a plate rides over a rising plume of hot mantle, creating a line of volcanoes on top of the plate.”

11- Explain how carbon moves through the Earth system (including the geosphere) and how it may benefit (e.g., improve soils for
LiRa [457]

Answer:

The Carbon Cycle. The main benefits are Plant growth and enrichment of agricultural soils. The main Harms are air pollution

Explanation:

Carbon movement on Earth is best-explained trough the Carbon Cycle, in this cycle carbon is stored, moves or is exchanged between the biosphere, the Atmosphere, Oceans, and the Geosphere.

Atmosphere storages big quantities of carbon. this carbon then cycles to the Biosphere where it is used mainly by the plants on the photosynthesis and respiration processes.

Oceans also plays an important role in the cycle by photosynthesis of seagrass and algae, the air and the sea also exchanges carbon present in the surface ocean. But also large amounts of carbon are stored in the deep ocean (about 37,000 gigatons of carbon per year).

In the Geosphere the Carbon Cycle is slower because it involves processes like rain that forms carbonic acid when in contact with the rocks, this acid promotes chemical weathering on rocks releasing elements like calcium and magnesium that are carried over to the oceans, in the oceans, Calcium carbonate is formed trough the calcification of organisms that are layered throughout the years, this calcium carbonate is then cemented and turned to rock. Organic carbon is also present in the Geosphere as a result of dead plant matter.

This carbon stored in the lithosphere is released back to the atmosphere through volcanism, and the cycle repeats.

societies greatly benefit from carbon because of the plant respiration and growth process, also carbon is an element present on rich soils for agriculture.

The main harm to society is air pollution. Humans emissions have an important impact on carbon cycle by adding more C02 to the atmosphere in the form of Black carbon (produced by combustion process) and because of deforestation, the Carbon exchange with plants is reduced, increasing pollutants to the air.
