The Senators must be thirty years of age and should have been a US citizen for last nine years and should be a resident of the state from where he/she would be chosen.

The senate is consists of Senators and each one of them represents a particular state and regardless of its population each state is represented by two senators. There are 50 states in the union and 100 senators.
