The Senators must be thirty years of age and should have been a US citizen for last nine years and should be a resident of the state from where he/she would be chosen.

A Senators term in office is six years and one third of total members of the senate are elected after every two years.

The vice president is the president of senate. In his absence the others designated by him presides over the proceedings.

The senate is consists of Senators and each one of them represents a particular state and regardless of its population each state is represented by two senators. There are 50 states in the union and 100 senators.
