The summer corn dance is a ritual in San Domingo. This has been accepted as a tribe’s catholic ceremony. The pleblo Indians have been catholics and the corn dancers since 17th century.
This marks the life of the pleblo as birth, procreation, death, land cultivation and so on. If they do not dance, they believe that the planet would not grow crops, children would not be born, sky would not rain, seasons would not turn up.
