4. D-day stands for designated day was the day of the Normandy landings ( Tuesday, 6 June 1944) ,this was perhaps ,if not the most important day for the allies during .It was the largest seaborne invasion in history.

5.Island Hopping or Leapfrogging was a strategy during World War II (WWII) implemented by the Allied forces against Japan and the Axis forces. The point of the strategy was to avoid Japan's fortified centers, and instead reach Japan through and by capturing the Pacific Islands (which were less fortified).
