Answer:

"If a body catches a body that comes through rye ..." it means that it catches the body, that is to say that it is not found but that it catches it and becomes that body. It is very different to catch than to meet. That is what the author tries to explain by changing the word "find" to "catch."

Locate and identify the -ing form.
Irina18 [472]
This is a participle. It cannot be a gerund, because gerunds have a nominal or adjectival meaning (for example, Swimming is fun - swimming would be a gerund). The -ing form itself is not a 'verb phrase', but 'sneezing uncontrollably' is. So if we are looking only at 'sneezing', the answer is 'participle'.

Which word in the sentence is the INDIRECT OBJECT ? Will Cheryl show Patricia the pictures of her trip?
STatiana [176]
The correct answer is: B: Patricia. Object in the sentence is the entity that is acted upon by the subject. In this sentence, subject is "Cheryl", and "Cheryl" is doing the action of showing upon "the pictures". "Patricia" is indirectly affected by this action, and so she is the indirect object. Direct object is "the pictures". Types of object are: 1) direct object: entity acted upon. Example: Suzan is making a CAKE. 2) indirect object: entity indirectly affected by the action. Example: Tom sent HER flowers. 3) prepositional object: object introduced by a preposition (to, for) Example: Tom is waiting for GEORGE.

How does Justice Black support the dissenting opinion?
Roman55 [17]
Justice Black supports the dissenting opinion by arguing that people who voice their opinions in a place of worship are free to do so. They should not be restricted by whatever difference, they should be allowed to state their opinions and be given voice.
