In order to solve for x you have to set x by itself, this has an x in both sides of the equation so your first step will be setting the smallest x to the other side, in this case 2x is the smallest x and since it is a positive you have to subtract it(because the only way to get rid of a positive is with a negative) now you will be left with 5x=-35, now your last step to leave x by itself is divide 5 by both sides, why divide because the x is multiplied by 5 and the only way to get rid of a multiplication is with a division... so this gives you a result of x=-7

Hope this helps

A broken calculator can double any number or permute its digits (but 0 cannot go up front). Can we start with number 1 and obtai
stira [4]

Answer: it's impossible to obtain 78

Step-by-step explanation: Since the calculator can double any number or permute its digits except 0

starting with number 1

1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128

Therefore, it's impossible to obtain 78 by a series of these operations

One factor of 7x2 + 33x – 10 is
stiv31 [10]

7x^{2} +33x-10=0

\implies 7x^{2} +35x-2x-10=0\\\implies7x(x+5)-2(x+5)=0\\\implies (7x-2)(x+5)=0

7x - 2 = 0\\\implies \boxed{\bold{x = \frac{2}{7} }}

x+5=0\\\implies \boxed{\bold{x=-5}}

The point (2, -3), is the top of a triangle. Which point would it map to if the triangle was translated up 7 units and reflected
Elza [17]

Answer: (-2,4)

Step-by-step explanation:

When you go up any number of units, you add it to the y-coordinate. So -3 + 7 = 4. That would make it, (2,4). The next step would be reflecting it across the y-axis. And whenever you reflect across the y-axis, the x-coordinate always changes.

X+2y=-1 and 4x-4y=20 solve by substitution
Illusion [34]

To do this problem you would first need to factor out a variable, which in this case I would want to do the first equation because it is isolated. Now the equations would look like this:

x = -2y - 1

4x - 4y = 20

Since we know that x is now equal to -2y - 1 we can plug it in to the x value in the second equation:

4 (-2y -1) - 4y = 20

-8y -4 - 4y

-12y - 4 = 20

-12y = 24

y = -2

Now that we know the y value plug the y value to one equation to find the x, I will be using the first equation

x + 2(-2) = -1

x - 4 = -1

x = 3

Solutions:

y = -2

x = 3
